Those Unforgettable Moments

There are moments that we can not escape. Moments that change the course of who we are without our permission. We meet someone or see someone, or see something occur that forever alters the way we see life; the way we see even the most simple of moments in our daily schedule. They are moments where our hearts feel as if they are shattered beyond repair. They are moments where we can not imagine there every being more joy encapsulated into one single second. They are moments that challenge us to do something with our lives. Moments that inspire us to help another. Moments where we meet someone we felt we’ve known our entire lives. A moment where we see something about ourselves we need to change. And moments where we say good-bye to those who have touched our lives in ways we could never thank them for. The moment where you leave the one person you feel your heart will never part with. The moment where you meet a new friend you know will be in your life forever. A moment where there is laughter in uncontrollable waves created by a joke only you and your friend could ever understand. The moment you understand there is nothing in this world that satisfies your soul. The moment you hear Him play the chords to the song your heart has been trying to sing for years. The moment you realize that HE is all you could ever need. These moments occur in our lives at different times and in different capacities. But the impact is undeniable. We are never the same. We can’t be. To remain the same would be to deny the impact of the person or event that created that moment. And though these moments can sometimes be beyond painful……there can also be a moment that makes you feel as though you have just started living. And all of these moments are gifts given to us by one who knows the very combination to our heart. He loves us, and uniquely created us to experience moments just like this. Moments that change us, break us, shape us, and require us to form a dependency on HIM alone. Sigh…. My father never ceases to amaze me…….
